A+ Program

What is the A+ Program?

The A+ Program provides reimbursement for college expenses, including tuition, fees and up to 50 percent of book costs, at any public community college or technical school for two (2) years. All financial incentives are based on Missouri state funding through legislative appropriations. Financial assistance is available for students that meet the following requirements:

  • Attend a designated A+ school for two (2) consecutive years prior to high school graduation;
  • Graduate from high school with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale;
  • Have at least 95 percent attendance record for the four-year high school period;
  • Graduate with 50 documented hours of unpaid district-supervised tutoring or mentoring;
  • Maintain a record of good citizenship and avoid the unlawful use of drugs and alcohol;
  • Make a good-faith effort to secure federal post-secondary student financial assistance funds during the final semester of senior year;
  • All males who reach their 18 birthday must register for Selective Service;
  • Beginning with the class of 2015, students must score Advanced or Proficient on the Algebra I End-of-Course Exam.

What is an A+ School?

All high schools participating in the A+ Program undergo continuous reflection and improvement activities in an effort to provide all students with a rigorous academic and technical education. This prepares students for the work place, post-secondary technical training or college.

Maintain Eligibility After High School

  • Maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
